Here you will find the overview of the analysis settings of the WebsiteAnalyser. These are structured as in the WebsiteAnalyser itself and each described and illustrated in detail.

For each setting view, you will find a table in which the settings are described in detail.

If you have any questions regarding the analysis settings of the WebsiteAnalyser, please feel free to contact our Support.

General

In the general analysis settings of the WebsiteAnalyser you are able to set the maximum number of URLs to analyze or the maximum URL depth. You can also activate or deactivate the tag analysis (CSS, HTML, H1 to H6) as well as the content analysis quickly and simply by clicking on anchor of the "checkbox". Furthermore, you can enable the analysis of image files, CSS and XML files and allow or block the use of data in a 'robots.txt' (ALLOW / DISSALOW) of your domain.

It is not always necessary to analyze all parts of a domain and it is not always sensible to activate all usable analysis options. It does not make sense to parse the content of CSS and XML files every time you run it. Image and media files are subject to conditional changes in the long term. Here you or the administrative contact person will be able to tell you whether an analysis of these areas makes sense.

The settings for the analysis can be found in the settings dialog under Analysis ⇒ General.

Database

In the database settings, you can enable and disable the capturing and saveing of detailed data into the analysis database. By disabling capturing and saving, you will be able to speed up the analysis process and keep the size of the analysis database smaller, but will later lose details on the analysis views and reports, as the required data will be not available.

The unusable/unavailable analysis views are then visually marked in red and an informational message is displayed.

Multithreading/Threading

The so-called Multithreading denotes the quasi parallel execution of tasks (threads/processes). By using multithreading in the MTWS CoreEngine, the WebsiteAnalyser is able to perform multiple analysis tasks concurrently.

The settings below will help you optimize the analysis speed and adjust multithreading/threading to slower system. You can find the settings for multithreading/threading in the settings dialog under Analysis ⇒ Threading.

HTTP Connection

Due to many factors that make the analysis slow and the Webmasters block analysis software they can produce incorrect results and for the compensation of slow connections and bad timings we made most parameters of the HTTP connection configurable for you. Please use these settings only if you are aware of the impact at the compound and the analysis.

The HTTP connection settings can be found in the settings dialog under Analysis ⇒ HTTP connection.

User Agent

For accessing URLs using the HTTP protocol a so-called user agent with information about the system, browser language, operating system etc. is used to transfer that data to the webserver and it is also stored in the webservers LOG. Some web servers block the requests or the user does not want to transfer its correct data. For this purpose, you can select a User Agent and transfer the selected data instead of the correct data. The settings for the User Agent you will find in the settings dialog under Analysis ⇒ User Agent.
